A critique of ideal body image in American culture, the conflicting physical realities, and the mixed signals projected in mass media. Toying with people’s insecurities, the marketing machine bombards with imagery worshipping a perfect body – and also assaults with ads promoting over-consumptive, sedentary lifestyles. The result: an obese America – and a ready market for a miracle cure.
