A monumental work on the banks of the Tennessee River. Visually links the historical heritage of the site (including the Trail of Tears, African-American garrisons during the Civil War, a camp of freed black refugees after the Civil War) to Lookout Mountain peak in the distance, as well as to the architecture of the Market Street steel bridge and the contemporary Tennessee Aquarium across the river.
